1. Introduction

This Software Requirement Specification is written accordance with the IEEE Std 830-1998 model.

1.1.      Purpose

This SRS Document contains the complete software requirements for the Online feedback and complaint lodging system for a washing machine company and describes the design decisions, architectural design and the detailed design needed to implement the system. It provides the visibility in the design and provides information needed for software support.

1.2 Problem Statement

I am the owner of a relatively modern, efficient washing machine. But when it faces any problem it is a herculean task to call the customer service and then the painful process of telephonic complaint numbers start. Understanding the need of this home appliance and how critical it can be to some of us on a daily basis I wanted an online complaint lodging application which also provides me with the facility to provide feedback.

2. OVERALL DESCRIPTION

2.1 System

To create an online complaint lodging and feedback system of a washing machine company using the cloud zoho application. The system also enables the company employees and the dealers associated with the company to give their complaints or suggestions through the system.

2.2  Possible User Interfaces

     1.)  Home Screen: The user (customer, employee, dealer) should be able to get a basic knowledge about the washing machine company.

     2.)  Complaint Filing Screen: The user should be able to lodge a complaint and a corresponding complaint id should be generated for the future correspondences. The complaint lodging page should have the facility to lodge complaints on the basis of models selected and the fields should be preferably populated with the type of machine.  

    3.)  User Feedback Screen: The user feedback page should enable all the three types of user i.e. employee, customer and the dealers to give their feedback regarding the company processes etc .The options regarding feedback should vary depending on the type of user logged in.

    4.)  Email Notification: The user should be notified by a mail when he has lodged a complaint or given a feedback. The mail should state the course of action to be taken.

2.3       Software interfaces

2.3.1 Server Side

The zoho application which has its own in-built database supporting its applications.

2.3.2 Client Side

An OS is capable of running a modern web browser which supports HTML version 3.2 or higher.

 2.4       System Functions

This section outlines the basic roles of the users .

2.4.1    Customer Role

The customer can navigate to the complaint lodging page and lodge a complaint through the online system. The customer can also give feedback through the feedback page.

2.4.2    Employee Role

The employee can give his/her feedback or suggestions through the feedback page.
