Vantage-The Journey Begins

1.Introduction

Vantage online placement website is an online cloud based zoho application that behaves as an interface to the recruiters as well as to the students and helps the placement activities to be proceeded smoothly online.

Technology is a buzz word and Vantage is a brain child of such a school of thought.Based on my experiences most of the colleges today have an excel driven and hard copy based placement process which is painful for all.Vantage will help to mitigate such kind of hassles and give the user a sense of happiness and satisfaction.

2. Walking through Vantage

2.1 Home Page

This page gives the user an overview of our institution, VGSOM  and enables them to try out the different channels of navigation based on their requirement. Three links are given , two for Recruiters and one for the VGSOM students.The New Company Registration for a new potential recruiter and the Login link for an already registered recruiter.The students are navigated to their details updation page through the Student Details.. link.

 

If the recruiter is an existing user i.e he is already registered he will click the Login link and go to the Login Page.

2.2 Login Page

The recruiter logs in by entering his/her registration id in the drop down and enters the verification code and then presses Submit.The recruiter is shown a message "Please proceed" and is navigated to the Update Company Details page.

2.3 Update Company Details Page

The recruiter can update his/her organisation details though this page and when he has finished updating the details he will press Submit and instantly an email notification will be sent to the recruiter stating that his details have been modified and registered.

 

2.4 Feedback Form for Recruiters

 The recruiter can give the feedback in this page under two categories -Feature Request & Suggestions for Improvement .As soon as the recruiter presses the submit button he will be sent a mail thanking him for the feedback and after a short while another mail will be sent to him stating that the feedback or suggestions have been incorporated.

 

2.5  Placement News

After the feedback has been given by the recruiter and after he has pressed Submit he is navigated to the Placement News page which gives the recruiter the feel of what is going on in the campus recruitment scene at VGSOM.After the Submit button is pressed the user is navigated to the Home page.This page is also visible to the students and they will also be navigated to the Home page from this screen.

If the recruiter is visiting the website for the first time he will click the New Company Registration link on the Home Page  navigate to the Registration page.

2.6 Registration Page

The company can register itself in this page by filling all the details and by filling the job description field it can select the stream of students which it sees eligible.As soon as the registration is complete and the company presses the submit button a mail is sent thanking the recruiter for registration.After a delay of two minutes by an automated process another mail is sent along with the student details as a pdf attachment.After the registration page the recruiter will be navigated to the feedback form page for its feedback.




For students:

The students will click the Student Details link on the Home Page and then they are navigated to the Student Details page.

2.7 Student Details Page

The student fills all the details on the student details page and is given an automated serial no.These details are stored in the back end in a report and these details are sent to the recruiters automatically when they register for placements.
